Congratulations to our Ireland under 19s & AP interview

Congratulations to Jordan Coghlan on his selection for Ireland Under 19 for the European qualifiers tournament for the 2010 World Cup, and congratulations to Robert Forrest on his selection for Ireland Under 19 for a four team tournament in Oxford. Full details here.

Ladies 1sts Clontarf v Malahide 28/06/10

Clontarf Ladies Firsts won last night against Malahide. Malahide made 135 runs for 8 wickets. Selena Tainton got 2 wickets for 16 runs off 5 and Cecily McGeer picked up a lovely 3 wickets. Laura Cullen came back to bowl with her brand new action and kept runs down to 13 off her 3 overs. Fiona Dowling and Marguerite Burke both took catches.

Clontarf made the 136 in 18.2 overs with only 2 wickets lost. Margie and Selena opened the batting and held a brilliant partnership. Selena made 55 runs and Margie 52 not out, which included a lovely six!

It was great having Elaine Caverly back out playing and thanks to Jenny Bergin and Haley Burke for stepping up to play.

It’s great to have a win behind us. The girls have all been playing brilliantly and this was a win we needed and deserved. Long may it continue!

At Phoenix Park: Phoenix 42 all out, 19.3 overs. Clontarf Ladies 2nds 44 for 4, 7.3 overs. Clontarf won by 6 wickets.

Wednesday

Under 15 interpro, at Castle Avenue: North West beat N.C.U. by 2 wickets.

Under 13 cup, at Castle Avenue: Clontarf U-13 96 for 5, 20 overs (A. Delany 35*). YMCA 22 for 1, 9 overs. Rain stopped play. Replay to commence on Friday evening at 5pm in YMCA.

Thursday

At Castle Avenue: Clontarf Ladies 1sts v Leinster, 6:30pm CANCELLED

Middle Cup, at Mullingar:  Mullingar 202 for 9 beat Clontarf 3rds 98 all out by 104 runs.
Junior Cup, at Castle Avenue: Clontarf 5ths 157 for 7, 40 overs (C. Padgett 31, S. Tainton 30). Old Belvedere 158 for 4, 19.1 overs.  Old Belvedere won by 6 wickets.

Sunday

At Castle Avenue: Clontarf 2nds 277 for 7, 50 overs (A. Cullen 105*, K. Spelman 102*).  Balbriggan 271 for 8, 50 overs.  Clontarf won by 6 runs.

Congratulations to Jordan Coghlan on his selection for Ireland Under 17s, who play in the European Championship in August, including a game against Jersey in Castle Avenue on August 5th. Details can be found here.

Also congratulations to Andrew Poynter who top scored with 64 off 76 balls for Ireland against West Indies A in Belfast today.

Training tonight is cancelled

The nets have not yet been reassembled and the thirds have a cup game on the ground beginning at 6:30pm, so training tonight has been cancelled.

Cricketathon

The first Fundraising Event of the calender is starting on Friday with the Cricket Blitz

There will be a continuous game of cricket along with fun side games with prizes, face painting and a colouring competition for the younger children!

In the tab above people can find a sponsorship card in aid of Clontarf Cricket Club and the Central Remedial Clinic. We hope people can do their best to raise at least €20 with a reaction ball as an incentive prize for raising €20

There will also be a bbq starting in the evening!
