Well done last night to the Ladies 1st XI on a great win against the Hills. After a poor performance away to them last week we knew we had a good game on our hands. Clontarf batted first and managed a total of 98 with super batting from G Leahy 33, L Cullen 26 and M Burke 20 not out. We were not sure if we had enough runs on the board but went out on the field determined to defend this total and that we did. Bowlers and fielders were excellent and we managed to get The Hills all out for 61. C McGeer 5-12-3 (crucial wicket caught and bowled) L Cullen 5-5-3 and G Shaw 5-25-2. Some super fielding saw 2 excellent run outs as well!!!!
Well done to all the girls and thanks to our supporters last night it was nice to see a few people around (amazing how some lads were about on the Ladies night, did this have anything to do with shennnnannnigans from the Beach Party?) Thanks to Joe for umpiring!

Just want to say a massive thanks for a fabulous day yesterday. I think everyone who was there will agree that great craic was had by all. Joe you did a great job getting everything organised and I know it wasn’t easy, but well done. Zoe the beach party was ace, the room looked fab and there were some serious moves on the dance floor, really enjoyed the night. Stella, ta very much for scoring. Not easy at the best of times but handled beautifully. Tom, Daniel and Gladys who helped with the BBQ, Yum! To everyone who umpired, cheers. Where else would you get a day’s cricket, a T-shirt, a BBQ, a party and lei and all for just €15. Recession busting fun.
PS. Jody sorry you didn’t get a chance to face my bowling……..lucky escape

There is a shortage of coaches for Teddy Bears cricket tonight. If anybody can make it down for 7pm to help out for an hour and a half it would be very much appreciated. Please leave a comment if you can make it.
Many thanks.
