The Ladies 1sts had another win last night making that 2 out of 2. We finally got great weather on what was a perfect evening for cricket. North Kildare batted first and got a total of 42 due to some excellent bowling by L.Cullen 1-5-5, G, Shaw 3-13-5, C McGeer 0-3-5, O Golden 1-19-5. There was also some excellent fielding with 2 run outs and a super catch by Susan. Clontarf chased the total with Grainne and Laura getting it in the 8th over without losing a wicket. Well done Tarf. Thanks to our supporters and to Deller for umpiring!!!!

This year the youth section are organising a fundraiser, the proceeds of which will go towards the purchase of new training gear as well as the Niall Mellon Township Trust. The event will be a book sale and will take place on Friday 26th June. While we already have some excellent stock, we would be very happy to relieve you of any books, which you are finished with, but are still in good condition. Please contact me if you have books to donate. There will be plenty of bargains and we also hope to get some raffle prizes also so please do get in contact so we can raise plenty of money for the two causes.
thanks

Clontarf went down to Civil Service yesterday evening in the Phoenix Park. It was disappointing having had them on the rack at 28/5 after another fiery opening spell from Mick Ryan (4/21). But they put together a good partnership in the middle order and finished up with an imposing 147. Other good performances with the ball included Ado Darcy and David Foley who picked up two wickets each. Our innings got off to a rocky start losing Ado and Matt in quick succession, Matt was particularly unlucky. But in came the Forrests who put on nearly 50 together with both in sublime touch (Bobo 26), but when Richard was stumped and Bobbo was run out by some clown (me!), the run rate piled up and despite some heroics at the end from Dave Foley, Andy Dunne et al, we came in 40 short. Thanks to all those who helped out, John Cotter, Eoin Ryan and Rob Abbot. Hopefully we can make up for it in the cup and the league!
Also, best of luck to all those who start the Leaving Cert / Junior Cert next week.
