Just a quick note to wish all captains, players, coaches and new groundsman all the best for the coming season. Castle Avenue is never far from my thoughts. Lets hope the weather holds fair for a good year of cricket!

I hope to get over at some stage during the season to see some cricket and catch up over a few beers!! Or I may even see some of you at The Rose Bowl for Irelands FPT game.

No cricket in Castle Avenue this weekend

Rain has intervened to cause the 5XI home game against Dundrum on Saturday to be cancelled.

The 4ths game tomorrow on Saturday away to Merrion at Anglesea Road was also cancelled.

Under 11 and 13 Boys Training

Training for the Under 11 and 13 Boys will commence next week.

Details are: Under 11s - Tuesday 28 April 4pm - 5pm and Wednesday 29 April 4pm - 6pm

Under 13s - Tuesday 28 April 5pm - 6pm and Wednesday 29 April 4pm - 6pm

Registration and further details will be provided at training. Any queries please contact the Club Coach at rod@clontarfcricket.com. Friday night coaching for 6 to 9 year olds will be commencing later in May. Details will be posted at a later date.

Some spaces available for CCC Gala Ball on Friday night

There are some spaces that have become available for the CCC Gala Ball in aid of Special Olympics Ireland, to be held in Clontarf Castle next Friday night, April 24th at 8pm. These will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

Jack Whelan RIP

Clontarf members are saddened to hear of the death of Jack Whelan last Easter Sunday morning. Jack was a very popular member, and brought great life to club. He will be sadly missed in many ways in Castle Avenue. Condolences are offered to the Whelan Family.

Funeral on Thursday after 11.30am Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, Clontarf, followed by burial in Fingal Cemetry.
